Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Locked, an iPhone app made by Nord Apps (“we”), based in Norway. The short version: there's no account, what you enter stays on your iPhone, we use a few services to understand how the app is used and which ads bring people to it, iOS asks your permission before any tracking, and we never sell your data.
Who is responsible
Nord Apps, Norway, is the data controller. Contact: nordlabs.support@gmail.com.
No account, no sign-in
Locked has no accounts and no sign-in. We don't ask for your email address or phone number.
What stays on your device
What you enter or create in the app is stored only on your iPhone:
- your first name (optional) and your answers in the setup (goal, what gets in your way, your hardest time of day);
- your commitment, favourite quotes, streak and lock-in history;
- your reminder times and other settings.
Part of this is kept in a shared storage area on your iPhone (an “App Group”) so the Locked widget can show today's quote and your streak. This data is not sent to us or to any server of ours. We don't run servers that receive your data.
Purchases and subscriptions
Payments are handled by Apple through your Apple ID. We never see your card or payment details.
We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. To confirm whether you have Locked Pro, RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID created by the app (not linked to your name or email), your purchase history for Locked, and basic technical details needed to check a purchase (such as app version and device type). This is used only to provide the subscription. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally on your iPhone. They are not sent from a server, and you can turn them off at any time in the app or in iOS Settings.
Photos
If you save a quote card or wallpaper, the app asks for permission to add images to your photo library. It can't read or see your existing photos.
Analytics, ad measurement and tracking
Locked shows no ads. Locked uses Google Analytics for Firebase to see how the app is used (which screens are opened, app version, device type and approximate country), Meta and TikTok to measure which ads bring people to Locked (app installs and opens, finishing setup, viewing the subscription screen, and trial starts and purchases with their price, plus your device's advertising identifier only if you allow tracking when iOS asks), and RevenueCat to manage subscriptions (an anonymous app user ID and your purchase history), and we never sell your data.
None of these services receive your name, your setup answers, your commitment or anything else you type into the app.
The first time you open Locked, iOS asks whether Locked may track you. If you allow it, Meta and TikTok also receive your device's advertising identifier, so they can link an install or purchase to an ad you saw in their apps. If you say no, they don't get the advertising identifier and only receive the events above, and everything in Locked still works. You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Meta, TikTok and Google handle this data under their own policies: Meta Privacy Policy, TikTok Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy.
How long data is kept, and deleting it
Data on your iPhone stays until you delete it. Deleting the Locked app (and its widget) removes everything stored by the app on your device. Your subscription itself is kept by Apple; RevenueCat keeps purchase records, and Google, Meta and TikTok keep analytics and ad measurement data, as described in their own policies. For any request about your data, email us at nordlabs.support@gmail.com.
Your rights (EEA and UK)
If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict processing, and to data portability. Because we don't hold your app data on our servers, most requests can be met by deleting the app; for anything else, including data held by the services above, contact us. We use analytics on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the app, and tracking for ad measurement only with the consent you give in the iOS prompt, which you can withdraw at any time in iOS Settings. You can also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet, or your local supervisory authority.
California (CCPA)
We do not sell your personal information. If you allow tracking in the iOS prompt, we share your device's advertising identifier and the app events described above with Meta and TikTok to measure our ads, which may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising under the CCPA. You can opt out at any time by turning off tracking for Locked in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or by emailing us.
Children
Locked is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. Important changes will be made before the app changes how it uses data.
